I found the perfect Media Server to work with Playstation 3. It’s called PS3 Media Server and it’s the most simple Media Server i tested until the moment.
In only 5 minutes i managed to connect my ps3 with my computer and display a episode of Heroes (with Subtitles!!!!) in my TV.
You can download this program at http://ps3mediaserver.blogspot.com/. It’s available for Windows, Linux and Mac.
Excellent isn’t it?
That’s right. In the past couple of months I became a huge fan of amazon, in my particular case Amazon UK.
In Portugal games are extremely expensive. Every good PS3 game cost between 50€ and 70€. A quick search at amazon and we can find real bargains. Yesterday i bought Little Big Planet for only 22£ (about 25€). I saved 45€ because in Portugal this game costs 70€!!!
In the last week, PES 2009 was being sold at 20£ (about 25€) when in Portugal this game costs about 70€. This week PES 2009
costs about 39£ (about 45€).
This examples are not good for Portugal economy. If more people knew this, they would buy their games thru companies like Amazon. But buying stuff online is, for most people, something that is strange and complicated. one thing is certain: you can save a lot of money buy things abroad.
So Amazon UK is making some great Christmas promotions. If you be aware you can find real bargains!

In the last 3 days i made a business trip to Frankfurt to attend to a conference, the browser games forum 2008.
Unfortunately Portugal is such a small market that we need to go to Germany to get some real information about the area i work in, browser games.
It was a great way to do some networking with all the big players, like Big Point (the primary sponsor), Travian Games and a lot of other companies not just in the game area, but in specialized game marketing, browser game publishing and licensing.
it was a great opportunity to know what the big players are doing, how they work and what do we have available in our area to make a browser game successful.
Next year i hope to attend it, this time making a presentation (yes it’s difficult but not impossible).
Game Trailers has just released the second part of documentary called Warcraft Retrospective. This second part, called “A Call to Arms”.
In this documentary, they describe Warcraft 3 and it’s expansion, the Frozen throne. they also give a little introduction about the subject of part 3: World of Warcraft (as expected).
It’s amazing to see how all the lore was built. For me that only played half of Warcraft 3 and played World of Warcraft for about 6 months, it’s incredible to see how they transported all the lore of Warcraft 3 and built the amazing universe of World of Warcraft.
(Video below)
Writing the previous post i found out another game retrospective. It’s wasn’t a blockbuster, but it was one of the RPGs that i most enjoyed playing because of the number of turnouts an features that the game had. The game is Fallout and here is his history (Video after the break):
Warcraft is, with a doubt, one of the first Real Time Strategy (RTS) of the new generation.
It have so success since it was released in January 15 1994, that 3 versions were and several expansions were release and created a Lore that brought to live the biggest Massive Multiplayer Online game ever created: World of Warcraft.
Because of the success of the Warcraft universe, Game Trailers decided to made a documentary called Warcraft Retrospective. The first part, called Drums of War can be seen below.
I Love dawn of war. Was one of the last RTS where i spend some good hours in. Unfortunately there was only the space Marines campaign in the original version fact that disappointed me. Meanwhile several expansions were released but i never played any of them. But for the looks, they are very good (maybe it can be a good game to spend the weekend playing).
Dawn of War 2 is expected to be released in the Spring 2009. For the looks of the In Game Video, DOW2 will be very very good.
Check the official site at http://www.dawnofwar2.com/. There you have screenshots, videos and the Eldar trailer (cinematic, yes, but very good).
Certainly a game to test. In Game Video after the break.
Here is a good news for all PS3 users. Finally the most sold games are going to earn a platinum version. It will cost arounf 30€ and it’s expected to arrive the stores 21 august.
In this list are games like Heavenly Sword and Uncharted.
Although 30 € is a little high compared to ps2 platinum games, it comprehensible because ps3 games are Bluray Discs.
This is another of the games in my “must have” list. I’m currently playing the trilogy of Prince of Persia and i’m loving it. Although they are great, Prince of Persia IV promises to be even greater.
In a previous post i released some images of the new prince of persia. This time, here is a in game video. By the looks of it, the game is fantastic!!!!
After this 2 games (street fighter and Prince of persia) i only need God of War 3 and i’m happy for a long long time!
This time i think they actually did it. Capcom finally brought street fighter to a new era. Without losing it’s personal mark (the 2D fighting system), they managed to insert 3D characters and animations in a game that i consider a “must have”.
About the gameplay, only when i get my hands on the game, i will know if it the has evolved for better or worse.
Meanwhile, where is a in game video (Excellent, by the way):
