I’m a Fan of Amazon!!!

That’s right. In the past couple of months I became a huge fan of amazon, in my particular case Amazon UK.

In Portugal games are extremely expensive. Every good PS3 game cost between 50€ and 70€. A quick search at amazon and we can find real bargains. Yesterday i bought Little Big Planet for only 22£ (about 25€). I saved 45€ because in Portugal this game costs 70€!!!

In the last week, PES 2009 was being sold at 20£ (about 25€) when in Portugal this game costs about 70€. This week PES 2009 costs about 39£ (about 45€).

This examples are not good for Portugal economy. If more people knew this, they would buy their games thru companies like Amazon. But buying stuff online is, for most people, something that is strange and complicated. one thing is certain: you can save a lot of money buy things abroad.

So Amazon UK is making some great Christmas promotions. If you be aware you can find real bargains!

When buying games from UK, take a look at game.co.uk.
Sometimes is cheaper that Amazon.
Nowadays I don’t buy games in Portugal either (for Wii and Xbox 360)

Wow…eu comprei nos states por 59 dollars e fiquei contente!

Passado uns dias encontrei a 45 e achei barato…não imaginava que se compravam por esses preços na Amazon UK! Tenho de estar atento! ;o)

Em compensação trouxe o Turok comprado no duty free no aeroporto por 25 euros e o Metal Gear Solid 4 por 35 euros!

Agreed. I’ve bought all sorts of items from Amazon UK, from books to DVDs to games. They are always cheaper than in Portugal, and they arrive in Lisbon in 2-3 days.

Bruno: I checked game.com but their conversion from pounds to euros it’s not done correctly. For the games i bought usually Amazon sells them cheaper (price with packaging). Anyway, thanks for the tip.

Luís Miguel: Eu já nem compro no States. O Uk tem preços tão baratos. E agora com a libra a 1.05785294 (de acordo com o google) já não compensa os states.

Luís Miranda: yes it’s incredibly fast. It’s more convenient for me to buy stuff at amazon than in a any shopping mall.

Amazon is pretty good price-wise and for Portuguese living in Portugal only gets better since the pound is getting even with the euro… (unfortunately for me)

cause after adding shipping costs (which you did not add to you calculations it made for better deals. Shipment is also very quick.

PS - When looking in dvdboxoffice do not forget to adjust the currency (normally, the default is Canadian dollars)

Monica, actually i did. If you see the link of Little Big Planet, the cost at amazon is 17£. In my post mention that the game cost 22£. I added about 5£ of handling.

I can say that Little Big Planet cost me exactly 22.59£ (17.03£ of the game + 5.50£ of Shipping & Handling).

I’ll give a look to dvdboxoffice.com. Maybe i can find some good deals there.
